Wrought steel hinges. The penny-end hinge has, in our experience, appeared on earlier dwellings than the arrow-head hinge. A little simpler than other designs. This one is about 17" from knuckle to the tip and is more than adequate for oak doors ranging in width from 2ft 3" to 3ft and both internal and external doors unless they are of unusually large dimensions.
