Knocker, Lions Head in Brass

Please roll over the above image to zoom in.

A substantial door knocker of a lion's head design and otherwise known as 'The No.10'. It was named thus since it was fitted to the door of No.10 Downing Street (the home of the British Prime Minister) during the rebuilding of the facade in the 18th century. This knocker (the only authentic design) has appeared in manufacturers catalogues at least from 1835 through to the present day and has become a timeless design. It measures around 8 1/2in long by 4 3/4in wide.
