Escutcheon, Brass Marlboro'
This is a copy of a detail specified for Marlborough House in London. Marlborough House was completed in 1711 by Christopher Wren for Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough and is now in use by the Commonwealth Secretariat. So, this brass escutcheon has a long and noble history, copies having been made ever since that time, and it still remains a popular feature for many people due to its strong resonant design. It measures approximately 2½inches by 1inch.
