About our brassware and tips for its care.
All brassware is manufactured in the industrial West Midlands of England.
Some are cast and finished by an old established Black Country manufacturer
from moulds dating back to at least the 1870's.
Others have been cast from
originals collected by us over the last 20 years.
None of our brassware
is laquered - therefore, yes, you will have to polish it.
Or not, if you
are a fan of the beautiful and complex colours the brass will tarnish to
given time.
A tip - after polishing wash the polish residue off with warm
soapy water (brass polishing materials actually promote tarnishing if left
on) then dry and apply a very thin film (with your fingers) of ordinary
beeswax furniture polish.
This will keep your brassware looking good for
much longer.
